There are different kinds of fuels and oxidants that are used in fuel cells. If its a hydrogen fuel cell, then hydrogen acts as the fuel and oxygen that is generally taken from air is used as the oxidant. Hydrocarbons and alcohol are other kinds of fuel that can be used with chlorine and chlorine dioxide.(2) as other oxidants. Some of the main fuel cells are the Polymer exchange membrane fuel cell(PEMFC), Solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC), Alkaline fuel cell(AFC), Molten-carbonate fuel cell(MCFC), Phosphoric-acid fuel cell (PAFC) and Direct-methanol fuel cell(DMFC).

Why do I need EvoMx anti-slosh fuel tank foam?

If you’ve ever carried a hot cup of coffee across the room, then you can appreciate the problem of slosh, or as scientists call it: oscillating liquid motion due to disturbances. As you ride, your fuel level decreases and the remaining fuel is excited by the movement of your vehicle. Each bump, jump, corner, acceleration and deceleration, causes your fuel to slosh. When the fuel sloshes in your tank, the forces of the fuel movement are transferred to the wall of the tank and the force is transferred throughout your vehicle, including your handlebars! In order to make a 5.2-gallon tank for this bike and have the best ergonomics possible for the rider we choose to incorporate the two radiator shrouds into the main body of the fuel tank. The trade off with this is that you lose the ability to raise the tank on the rear hinge mounts to access your air filter. Also with the tank and both shrouds now one piece it can be hard to line up the tank and the side mounting points.

This may seem like overkill, but if you like to ride and adventure around, a big tank is a necessity. Even though we were able to get over 100 miles (reserve light comes on at about 90) on Yamaha's WR250R/X stock 2-gallon fuel tank, there were plenty of times when we wanted more. The only solution was going to a huge-in-size upgrade from Justgastanks.com.

The made-in-Australia Safari 3.5-gallon tank delivers 1.5 gallons more fuel and incorporates the radiator shrouds into the design. Bolting it on requires less than two hours and a slight modification to a vacuum line. Once installed the tank looks huge, but when you are riding the bike it is not as obstructive as it seems. It really gets wide right at your knees but at the seat it isn't bad. The best part: You can really quit worrying about fuel range since now it is easily possible to get 200 miles on a tank, even though the reserve light will come on at about 120 if you start out full.
